About
Starting my majoring in Arts of Graphic Design and Multimedia in 2012, I have had opportunities to gain knowledge of how to interact with industry programs and clients in and out of the class room. Skills that have landed me Downtown Las Vegas event jobs, assisting in pitching an up-coming feature film, and multiple independent films. As a business owner, acting as a freelance designer, I have envisioned of what I want my company to be, and how great it can be, giving me a better understanding of a client’s voice.

Inspired Entertainment is an up-incoming production coming, started from producers and editors within Legendary Pictures. The company began a Kickstarter in 2015 and raised enough money to complete an 18-minute short horror film. I was blessed enough to have an opportunity to have a small part grow into something larger. My part at first only consisted on creating the layout design, logo for a podcast site used in the film, and the official poster
Almost a year later, the company came to me, and had a full-length feature film written up and ready to pitch to studios such as: Legendary, Universal, and Sony Pictures. However, more than a script is needed. Studios need a visual, and I was trusted to bring this aspect into play. Creating the presentation slides to go along with the pitch, I was responsible for matching the pitch with the overall look of the film, in aspects like color scheme, tone, and so forth. Again, I was able to surpass their expectations. The film is now in post-production.
In July of 2017, speaking through Collective Zoo directly, with the overall green light given by the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, I act as a contract graphic designer creating original poster concepts for DJ concert events. The event center is known for bringing concerts to the downtown Las Vegas area, where Collective Zoo is passionate about the latest and greatest DJ artists. While designing these posters, I adhere to the events specifications. These specifications specify what the theme of the event is, who will perform, and what other attractions will be available for the crowds. Designing for Collective Zoo, flyers for the events must be versatile, by having the ability to convey the same message across a variety of platforms, and dimensions.
Sunrise Pictures
Sunrise Entertainment produces films for other independent film companies as such Tomato Sunrise Films and Terror Films of the companies I have contracted. The format in which they request posters from freelancers in several posters in a given amount of time, and from here they choose the best posters or none. Luckily, I have not yet been rejected a concept series of posters, but I have inherited a film from them not appreciating the previous designer's direction. What I like about Sunrise Entertainment is that they give me creative freedom, whatever I can create. Though I can see this as a negative, not having a box to work in, not having rules can have its disadvantage.
In my first encounter with the company, their platform was to create 5 posters in 7 days. I took a step forward and created 5 posters in 5 days. This for more reasons than one. One being I wanted to show my dedication and not having them extend certain deadlines resulting in a delay domino effect. Another was to show I could work with deadlines and even surpass them, and more important to show quality under the pressure of a week deadline. The result was them not picking the best of the handful, which was the plan, but the final choice was to pick two as they couldn’t pick only one. In the end, not only do I feel this left a good impression on them, in the hopes for more opportunities, but for future employers as well.
